ABOUT THE PROGRAM
USD’s Online Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence (MS-AAI) is designed to equip students with technical and soft skills for one of the most in-demand domains in tech. This program was designed in collaboration with key stakeholders from the industry and is taught by faculty with real-world experience working in AI.
A robust, hands-on curriculum introduces the students to the principles and applications of deep learning, neural networks, computer vision, natural language processing, and IoT (Internet of Things). The program also gives special emphasis on the learning of privacy maintaining techniques and socially responsible practices, while applying AI tools. Moreover, students complete a capstone project executed along with peers and potential industry partners giving them a safe workplace experience.
This is a completely asynchronous course and is not lecture based. Students are expected to do independent work on their own schedule, supplemented by the resources available to them in the online classroom and weekly live sessions led by faculty. Students should expect to dedicate 15-18 hours weekly per course to studying, seeking out supplemental study materials and completing assignments.
While enrolled in a program at a top-tier US university, all postgraduate students should expect a rigorous curriculum and be prepared to work independently, think critically, and have a high level of accountability. By design, this level of commitment will prepare students to excel in the modern-day workplace, which relies on independence and virtual connection.
