WHAT IS THE VIRTUAL INTERNSHIPS EXPERIENCE?

As an enrolled USD Online in India student you'll have the ability to apply to guaranteed remote internships.* This opportunity gives you the chance to intern at a global company while getting employability support throughout the experience from Intern Experience Managers. These 100% online placements place you directly in your industry, giving you work experience, the opportunity to build connections and preparing you with employment support. Over 120 hours, spread out over 8-12 weeks, you will develop a deep understanding of your host company and put your skills to practice with project-based tasks overseen by your supervisor.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Virtual Internship’s placement process ensures you get matched with an internship at a company that suits your interests and career goals: 

  • You will fill out an application and complete your profile with your career goals, educational background and personal interests then submit a video introduction of yourself.
  • Your Intern Experience Manager will provide you with feedback on your profile and help you improve it to put your best foot forward to companies.
  • Then Virtual Internships will match and share your profile with companies best suited to your interests. 
  • It is now time for an interview with the company so you and your potential supervisor can determine the placement is a good fit.
  • You will then begin the placement with support from your Intern Experience Manager and your supervisor.

what to expect from a virtual internship

  • Project-based Internship
    All placements include 5 projects that you will complete during your internship. Developed based on company priorities, these projects will be key to the success of the area you will be working on and you’ll make a tangible contribution to the team. You will work with your supervisor to complete these projects with on-call support from your Intern Experience Manager along the way. 
  • Remote work skills
    Your placement will expose you to various tools and systems used in everyday remote work. Even in-person roles depend largely on tools used for remote collaboration, so your experience working with these will give you a leg up in the job search.
  • Career Alignment
    60% of your work during the internship will be directly related to your chosen career field. This means you’ll get critical real-world experience that will stand out to employers when applying for full-time positions. The other 40% of your tasks will be additional operational tasks for industry exposure. These tasks will give you valuable insight into what it really looks like to work in your field and will arm you with hard skills to boost your resume. 
  • Real World Opportunities
